Accountability
The Packaging development is often a local & regional market driven activity with inputs from regional/ local Market
 The job holder will be expected to represent the packaging development & Innovation function. In addition the jobholder may also act as a team member of Packaging Innovation team
 Plan and organize packaging development & innovation work programmes to design, develop and establish new Syngenta products for Indian regional Market.
 Ensure that timescale deliverables and specification are aligned with the business- ensure integration of activities with those of other functions such as purchase, Product registration & Development(PR&D), Packaging development, Supply Chain, Marketing & sales, Process technology & Projects.
 Collect & examine the chemistry data on AI and formulations packaging available at Global level (across Syngenta Packaging Development community). Generate balancing data & pull together the data to suit the Indian registration requirement in coordination with registration team Delhi.
 Generation & compilation of multi location packaging compatibility data in coordination with SMW QA/QC team.
 Interaction with regional & Global packaging team
 Responsible for regular reporting of packaging activities within Indian Supply chain team & Regional/Global packaging team.
 Communicate effectively & clearly in regional & multifunctional project teams.
 Ensure the Quality of packaging by arranging for physical &
 Provide advice and recommendations to allow appropriate selection of packaging to manufacturing sites (In-house & Tollers) for individual products, together with the product design inputs required to define the process equipment and Quality assurance requirement.
 Provide technical details and recommendation for manufacturing Quality and performance monitoring (eg. Specifications, PKI & methods for testing/implementation)
 Ensure full compliance with change management requirement ( processes & systems, in case of validation PM new supplier )
 Provide technical expertise and support in case of introduction of packaging in Syngenta sites as well as in Tollers manufacturing sites.
 Provide a support service for solving problems concerning packaging encountered during manufacture and use of products in Indian Market.
 Packaging development India key contact for the APAC packaging network and Global network. Ensure appropriate level of support to the region to promote knowledge sharing.
 Scouting the new cost effective solution with Innovative solution for pack development.
 Support to the green chemistry solution to the packaging.
 To ensure that the jobholder work safely & healthily with due care for others so that compliance with Global Syngenta, local sites as well as Packaging development HSEQ policies are achieved.
 To invest in personal and professional development and growth, undertaking, where appropriate, training and development activities ensuring the familiarity with research and literature.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Critical Knowledge.
 Bachelor of Science, preferably in Chmestry /Physics stream with diploma/degree in Packaging Technology.
 Ability to act as a focal point of expertise on specific operation, technologies or Procedures.
 Thorough and practical knowledge packaging development skills.
 Good understanding of project planning & management.
 Demonstrated business understanding.
 The incumbent should have a sound knowledge of the packaging material physical & chemical properties.
 Should have adequate knowledge of Insecticide act, regulatory requirement in packaging and weights & measure act.
 Awareness & knowledge of ASTM/TAPPI/FAO/BIS standards.
 Should be aware of local compliance & be able to interact with regulatory dept.

 Knowledge of designing software ai, coral draw, photoshop etc.
